I have a 1996 Lund Adventurer 1700 and was filling it up the other day. Gas came out in a stream just under the gas cap fill. Anyone know if that is a overflow valve? I may not have had the gas nozzel in correctly as it didn't happen again on fill ups after that.

Yep, that's the overflow. It's best to not lock the gas lever when pumping, but instead keep your hand on the pump and fill not too fast while keeping a sharp ear to listen for gas getting near the top. Shut it off as soon as you hear gas coming up.

You mentioned this happened the other day, but hasn't happened in fill ups since. Sounds like you put some serious hours on your boat. I normally only fill up at the end of the season just before turning the boat over to my dealer for winterizing! -Ken
