Re: gas price

$2.85 on the street

No road tax refund in Pennsylvania, but the boat commission gets some of the money.

(Copied from the PA Fish & Boat Commission website)

Why do I have to report how much fuel I used?

Fuel usage reports from registered boat owners allow the Commission to recover a portion of the taxes paid when the fuel was purchased. The Commission uses this money to support its boating programs. Under-reporting, or not reporting any fuel, decreases the amount of money available to support boating facilities and boating programs in Pennsylvania. Registered boat owners should try to be as accurate as possible when providing this information.

Sounds like alot of money available to upgrade/upkeep. Are they using it well or does the Head of the Commission have a REALLY nice boat?

Most of the public boat ramps are maintained by the PFBC and most are in pretty good shape and from what I have heard about other states the boat registration rates in PA are not high. I would imagine that alot is spent cleaning up from the coal mines.

Registration Fees
Fees cover a 2 year period, which expires March 31 of the 2nd year

Unpowered Boats $18
Motorboats under 16 feet $26
Motorboats 16 feet to less than 20 feet $39
Motorboats 20 feet and over $52
Commercial Passenger $50

Re: gas price

Manipulator, we paid $3.25/gal at the 55 mile marker on the Lake of the Ozarks on Sunday of labor day weekend. The guy said he had been 3.75 on Sat but boats were in shorter supply than he had anticipated so he dropped it. I was really suprised.
You were probably up on the busier end.
