I have been pumping out my tank through the pick up from the gas tank. It seems to be the best way to get all the water out of it. I am now at the what I feel is the bottom of the tank. What else can I put in to get the rest of the water out of it? I did open the top of the tank where the float is. That was an impossible task because the screws were under the floor of the boat which is a 1996 Aquasport Explorer 215. I seemed to have beeter luck with the pick up. I will be changing the the water seperator as well. I was told that I could put alcohol in the tank. Is that true?

Re: Gas Tank Cleaning

Hello Dav..

Aye.. Jim or Jack is the best ( you have to drink half of the bottle in order for it to work correctly ;) ).

Kidding aside.. If you put anything, Including water emulsifiers, in your tank then fuel it up then run it almost dry..then do it again and again. You might consider putting some "stable" in your fuel treatment..and then when your done with the whole clearing your fuel out put some Marvel Mystery in your oil .. run again then Do an Oil and filter change IMO..

As I dont know why or how water got into your fuel tank I cant really tell you the "right" direction .. this is only from past EXP.

YD.

PS. Ill check with the Engine tech....

Ayuh,... It'll absorb the water the best,+ allow you to pump it out...

Use Fuel alcohol,... Not Rubbin' alcohol.....

Have you figured out Where the water's comin' from,..??
