gas tank location

I have an older closed bow 16 ft Jupiter and I am toying with the idea of putting the gas tank up under the closed bow in front. I currently use a 6 gallon tank but would love to upgrade to a 9-12 gallon tank. I thought that too it might help with weight distribution by putting it in the front. My only issue that is see is the amount of fuel line I will have to run. I currently have a 55 evinrude 2 cylinder on the boat. Will the motors fuel pump be strong enough to pull fuel the distance of most likely 17 ft of line? should I use metal fuel line for a majority of the distance? should the fuel bulb be closer to the fuel tank or the motor? Sorry for all the questions and if they are stupid questions, lol! I do not know a ton about boats so I am still learning. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

You will have no problem and I did the same thing on my Jupiter. I used a "portable" 12 gallon tank and mounted it using cooler brackets.

My boat had actually apparently had a fuel tank under the bow at some point previously as there was an old fill port on the bow deck and the boat already had a copper fuel line running from the bow to the stern which I was able to reuse. Handy.

I put a 30 gal tank there in mine and no problems. Helps keep the front end down when I take off too. Just for because I also put a see thru filter in. You can see air if you have an o ring problem, or sucking air for any other reason. Also cleans the gas some. I strapped my tank down with 3" straps.

I have a 1975 Stuery with a 50hp 2 cylinder evinrude. No problems with probably some 12-14 foot of gas line. Defnitely helped with the weight dist problems also.
