Re: gas tank material
It's a poly tank. The most common concern today with regards to tank material is whether or not it is compatible with ethanol alcohol. Yes, it is. The more appropriate concern would be the engine or other components in the fuel system. Until we exceed 10 percent ethanol in the fuel almost every component used in the fuel system in the last twenty years as well as the engines manufactured in that time frame are compatible. The first component to be questionable in my mind as the ethanol content is increased would be the engine. Engineers design an internal combustion engine to burn a particular fuel. When a substitute fuel is introduced it may still burn, but at what temperature and rate? Just as you can't put gasoline in a diesel engine, a gasoline engine can only tolerate so much ethanol. Hopefully legislation and legislators will catch up to facts and realize that ethanol may not be the answer to alternative fuels we are looking for.
