First off Canada does not have gallons, everything is sold by the liter so if the tank holds 65 gallons it is 65 U.S. gallons which would work out to 246 liters. Going the other way if it was 65 liters that would be only 17 US gallons and you would not have a tank that small in a 25 foot boat

Hi. Up until 1981 Canada did use the imperial gallon measure, but as your boat was built in the USA the fuel tank capacity will definitely be US gallons.

Yup, US gallons.
For example, Our sundancer has a 125 us gallon tank.

I vote US gallons. Can you even buy gas in Canada by Imperial measure anymore?

Not since we went metric, mindya you still can get fuel and POL in standard 45 gallon drums, but there is a metric equivalent for that I bet.

Look at the manufacturers Spec Plate on the tank.
It will likely show both Gallons and Liters.

When calculating fuel burn the size of the tanks is irrelevant.
If you think that when the gage show 1/2 of a tank remaining that you used 32.5 gallons, you are kidding yourself.
It could actually be 10-15 gallons off either way.

Fill the tank completely before the trip. and then see how much it takes to re-fill it after the trip.
The refill amount is how much fuel you used.
The gage is just an indication of mostly full, or mostly empty. Nothing more accurate than that.

Yes you can. :) The Canadian resort we visit sells imperial gallons at the dock. 4 imperial gallons fills may 5.5 us gallon jerry can.
