Re: gas tank

Easiest way : fuel pump.

Cheapist way : siphon. Hint: there is already a fuel hose from the fuel tank to the engine that makes a wonderful siphon…and it’s already installed in the tank. :)

Re: gas tank

Bondo - funny you should mention this…

I think you were the one that mentioned the anti-siphon valve to me in a thread last Dec and I wasn’t sure my new tank had one. I just got off the phone with the company that fabricated the diesel tank. As per them, anti-siphon valve OR shutoff value is USCG required. Mine has a ¼ turn shutoff valve.

My 18-ft RIB has a 20-gal aluminum gas tank with neither. I drain it as explained above. I suppose I should fix that. :)

Re: gas tank

Hey guys,
You caught my ear with the comment about the anti syphon valve on the aluminum gas tank being coast guard approved. Can you elaberate on that. I have a 16ft aluminum boat with a 42gal aluminum gas tank. I don't have a anti syphon valve because I just emptied my tank via the fuel line. Am I in violation and in jeporady of being cited by the CG??
thanks
jimpittman
