I am trying to find a gasket that will match my 4.3 L Mercruiser - Mercarb. I found one online but it is for a Rochester 2GC. I have been comparing the pictures to the old gasket and it looks like it would match. Anyone have the experience to have worked with both of these carburaters? I took it apart because my throttle was acting funny. Great starting up, but when i try to ease on the throttle it wants to die. I have to play with it, then it revs high. any ideas on either question would be most appreciated.

Welcome aboard.

Moved this thread from the Merc outboard section to the Mercruiser section. I think it works better here.

Are you looking for a a gasket/rebuild kit or a single gasket?

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,..... Sounds like the accelerator pump is dyin',....

Get a rebuild kit, 'n a replacement accelerator pump(some kits have 'em, some don't),.....

That'll give ya all the gaskets, 'n parts ya need,...

I picked up the Mercarb kit from West Marine this morning. I will rebuild and post results. By the way, the Rochester and Mercarb gaskets are similar but won't match exactly.

Are you talking about the carb to intake gasket? Some have a ig oval hole, some have 2 holes,1 for each throttle plate. Can they interchange?

I have a mercarb on my 3.0l. It had a 2 hole carb to intake gasket on it. My carb kit came with the open center 1 big hole. Is the open one the right one?
