hello everyone
let me give you some background info first.
i have a 1982 ranger bass boat with a evenrude 150 on it. last time i was on the water it ran good at low rpm's but on plane it would only run 5-10 minutes and act like i wasent getting enouph fuel, bogg down and sometimes die. i brought it home and ran it on muffs and noticed i was sucking air through the fuel filter on the motor, i replaced all fuel lines primer bulb and filters, it got better but i still think fuel filter should have more gass in it when running.
after changing fuel lines i ran the motor, when checking the fuel flow, i noticed oil on side of motor behind the starter, on the starter, vro pump and cowling. with the motor running a small puff of smoke comes out about every 10-15 sec or so. it looks like it is coming from the gaskit between the intake manifold and the block, would this cause motor to run bad at high rpm's?? and how hard is this to change??. it looks like i can pull the intake without pulling motor, is this possible or do i have to pull power head??
I know a little about working on cars, but i dont want to get in over my head with this.
any advice would be helpfull and appreciated.
