I just bought a 2002 merc 75 4 stroke that was in a box. It had a ruined con rod bearing and 1 slightly scored cylinder, and was missing 1 valve keeper half? It has been an interesting journey. The atttention to detail required to build this motor is daunting. I have worked through most problems, but I am concerned about what sealer to use on the block halves. I am planning on using black max hi temp. Is this safe for aluminum? Anybody know what the correct choice is?
Any advice on this motor would help.
thanks

Never use silicon to seal crankcase half's as it will fail !!!!

Loctite master basket 514 (OEM# 92-12654-2) and use the primer also
