Looking for the correct part numbers for gaskets
I have a 1974 Mercury 850 or 85 hp outboard
I have tried to search for a couple gaskets , but only finding a complete kit
I only need the transfer port and the one that goes on the bottom of the power head to the drive unit or mid section
thanks for your help

Re: gasket part numbers

Larry;

Your engine s/n 4096602 from your previous posts comes up as:

85 1975 EL 4092965 - 4366801 7044108

From here:

MERCURY OUTBOARD MODEL YEAR GUIDE 60 HP - 100 HP -- Mastertech Marine

Parts List:

MERC 850 (4 CYLINDER) - Mercury, Mercruiser, Force, etc. Parts Lookup

See transfer port gasket as item 32 under END CAPS, MANIFOLD AND EXHAUST COVERS

Mercury NEW Powerhead Gasket 27 62107 62107 | eBay

Note that the newer gaskets are one piece instead of two separate gaskets.

For the one under the powerhead, see item 12 under DRIVE SHAFT HOUSING ASSEMBLY

66335 Gasket Quicksilver | eBay

The easiest thing is to just make your own gaskets.

Re: gasket part numbers

do you coat these gaskets or just put them on dry ?
I have Permatex Aviation form a gasket and thought I would use it for Crankcase cover to block so I could use it on the transport cover gasket also
