So I am rebuilding an engine (Chevy 350- Mercruiser alpha one in a maxum 2100sr) and have questions in regards to the gaskets, the head gasket looks clean and I plan on reusing it but for the other gaskets can I use just standard auto gaskets for ones such as- upper intake, exhaust manifold, timing chain cover, water pump, thermostat? I cant find "Marine" grade for these only for the Head Gasket, thats why I assume I can use standard auto.

Also I cant find anything on the year for this engine except that it was made between 1987 and 1995, numbers I have found on it are as follows:
14093638
V0825FSC
GM 57LG SGI
HI33

Thanks in advance

Yup, it's a Chevy 350 for those normal gaskets...and I think the boat motor guys are going to come along and recommend replacing the head gaskets with marine type, ie. not reusing the head gaskets.

Ayuh,.... Of yer list, the intake gaskets don't care, the timin' cover don't care, 'n the water pump don't care,....
The exhaust gaskets are Very different, auto gaskets can't be installed the way they come, it's Gotta be 1 piece,....
Fel-pro 1404 is a Quality set for yer motor/ manifolds,...
'n of course, the Marine t-stat housin', is Very, Very different than a car,...

'n I never ever reuse a head gasket,....
The fire-ring is SSteel in marine quality gaskets,...
