How crucial is the 50:1 mixture? For example, 1 gallon of gas should have 2.56 ounces of oil so I guess an even 3 ounces would be ok? For 2 gallons it should be 5.12 ounces, so should I use only 5 ounces or go to 5 1/2?

Bruce

As a rule of thumb, I always try to error on the "oil heavy" side. Plus or minus 10% ain't gonna hurt anything.

By using a little extra oil all that you're going to do is foul plugs a little faster. I normally mix in a little extra oil than needed. But NEVER use less oil than you're supposed to.
