redoing the dash in my 86 bayliner capri.
the only gauge i had was a speedo that didn't work.
i made me a new dash panel and put an old speedo in it with the hose running to the back of the boat.
i'm now wanting to put in a matched set of gauges.
have had no problem finding a speedo.
and have found a few tachs that are setup for the 20 pole alt.
but still looking for fuel gauge, batt. gauge, and a temperature guage (water or cyclinder temp) and a trim gauge (don't have power trim, yet)

any ideas??

i'm pretty open to style and shapes, as long as i can get them all to match

thanks,
dan

When I replaced mine I found that many places had a listing for a 20 pole tach, but did not have any in stock and were either unwilling or couldn't order one. Had to go the surplus outfit route.

Since you are redoing the dash. If you do water sports only on lakes an rivers, put in one of the small depth gages. Too many people have mangled props because they don't know the water depth. These are either 2 or 3 inch I am not sure. Also, I would add a water temp gage. Pulling people stresses out the engine more than fishing does any day.

I got my tach on epay, just put a search on for one and waited about month. Is new and works great, fair amount less than I found at stores. IIRC he was a dealer.

I hear you but its an older boat and for me anyway, if all the gauges are the same color I can get along. I had plans to put a jack on mine and a water pressure gauge, there is a plug I think in the top of block. But not got hold of a longer steering cable yet.

Call your Bayliner dealer and get an idea of what he/she has availiable. If cost is an issue, take the info and shop elsewhere
