Posted here a week ago or so. rigging a new yamaha 90 on a Boston Whaler that had a 90 Evinrude. Took Rodbolts advise and bought a new Yamaha 704 top binical control, motor came with new 10 pin harness and keyswitch with horn. The 704 control takes care of the nutral switch and trim up and down switch in plug and play fashion. I could have used my old Morse control I is still good but time for a change..Now the gauges.. I may well get a new digital Yamaha gauge later on this year as I recover from this new motor cost..till then would like to at least use the Tach/ hour meter and volt meter.

The key switch has 4 wires coming off it with plugs to plug into gauges.. Red Green Yellow Black
These wires have plastic plugs in them to keep water out

The volt meter is a simple one .. two wires out to the main Boston Whaler + - bus bar.. It registers volts that it. So I will wire it up as it is..

The Tach is a Teleflex. Now as I understand this I will attach a jumper to the red wire plug off the key switch to the ING post on the tach

The Black plug off the key switch to the GROUND on the tach

The green wire plug off the key switch to the SEND on the tach

For Hour meter: Black GROUND on tach to Hr meter -

ING on tach to + on Hr meter..(I will run a red wire ) these two terminals will have two wires each on them

Tell me if I am wrong and whats the yellow wire for?

Trim gauge later...I know it takes a second harness.. let me guess Pink Gray Black

Answers will be helpfull for future OMC/to Yamaha repowering!
