Sin is sin is sin ...... a lie , murder, adultry or homosexualaltiy is all the same in the lords eyes. The only way to heaven is through the blood of Christ. If you accept his gift your sin is covered by his sacrafice. When you accept Christ the holy spirit will convict you of your sins against God and it will provide the want to change your way. Gay people do not choose to be gay anymore than a drug addict chooses to be an addict. They both may have made bad decitions but probably would rather not be traped into thier lifestyles. God loves gay people as much as the pope. As for a Gay bishop I believe it is totaly wrong to show people it is ok to sin and continue to sin without attempting to change your sinful ways. ( leadership in any situation needs to hold itself to a higher standard then the rest of the people. ) I am currently studing to become a youth pastor and I am the youth leader at a local church here in Wisconsin I know in my group of teens we have gay kids but I love them the same as the straight kids and I pray for them the same as the straight kids and they will always be welcome to take part, but I am sorry if they can not put down there sinful nature then I dont beleive they should become leaders in church.

And this is why the Bible is no more than a book for people to change its meaning for what they see fit. The so called bible is for WEAK MINDED PEOPLE that have no direction in life. Its sad when one must go to Church because they dont know the dfference between right and wrong. OHH I HAVE SINED! PLEASE FORGIVE ME O MIGHTY ONE! you can sin all you want and go to church and beg to be forgived. If you live this lifestyle under the rules of the "BOOK" why did you sin in the first place? No set standard in the BOOK. Everyone sees it they way they want too. Or how the church teaches it. all you bible thumpers can have your book. I hope you live your life to the fullest. By how its meaning is made to fit your lifestyle.

Your life is a choice.<br />Whichever way you lean.<br /><br />To say it's a genetic defect is a cop-out.<br /><br />You choose to be the way you are.<br /><br />You were born a boy and you decide how you want to live, not some germ.<br /><br />As for my facts, they come from the CDC, and not just some figure I grabbed from the air.<br /><br />Can't help it if you can't live with the fact that aids is more prevalent in gays than other's.<br /><br />If you want to be gay, fine, but don't blame it on something wrong with your body made you be this way.

Chad, <br /> We were all born with sin you,me and everybody else. I do not need to go to church to know right from wrong nor do you. But the fact is even though you are gay does not mean it is ok in gods eyes. And even if you are a genius it does not mean you know how to change your behavour, nor does it mean you are weak minded. The fact is is you and me and everybody on this earth is bombarded with temptations everyday and if we dont have help of God we will fall shortand sucumb to the temptations. I was a complete waste of life 5-6 yrs ago. I was hooked on drugs and a complete drunk. I was very violent and slept with as many women as I could bed. I hted everybody and blamed everybody for my problems. I was not weak minded as you said before, but I allowed my self to be tempted into liveing that life. Then I ( openmindedly ) allowed God into my life and slowly but surely I learned how right the bible is. It is not easy but my life is better for reading and following the bible as best I can. the bible is not there for anybody, christian or other wise to change to fit their lives ( as you said before in your post) that is esspestially why a gay bishop is not right. Oddjob im sorry to say but in God's eyes a lie and murder is one and the same " sin " you can not enter heaven with sin. This is why Christ had to die for all of us. To cover our sin. people see things differently then God so a sin is a little bad murder is the worst.

It's the churchs right to discriminate.. The church is a private orginization... If they want the gay bishop out, so be it... Muster up the guts and kick him out... But then there's that whole "judgement" issue... Hummmm? Perplexing problem... <br /><br />Spinner and All... I don't believe in God... Oh, I have read the good book and its teachings are a great way to live ones life, no doubt, can't argue that at all(and I do follow the straight and narrow path, if I did'nt my folks would have killed me already, Mom still would.. :D )... But the one major problem I have is how each and every denomination makes their own interpretations of the Bible and how they "use" it to suit their own particular ways... <br /><br />One thing I am certain of tho is Hell... How, you may ask?... It's like this... I live in Hell... I think we all do and some just don't realize it... Getting up everyday to go to work is Hell for some folks... Debating wether or not homosexuality is right, wrong, immoral, or whatever, definately Hell... The word of God being shoved in my face when I don't want to hear or read it, Hell (example: Tresspassing Jehovas whitnesses who want to spread the word by banging on my door at 7am. on the Saturday that I don't have to get up for work :mad: )... World "leaders" like Saddam, George W., Billy Clinton, and Osama bin whatever definately make life Hell.... Debating conservative views vs. liberal views and politics in general, so deep in Hell it's unfathomable... People who are so old and bitter, and dead set in their ways that they can't or won't accept the fact that things change and people are all different, Hell... Get the picture?<br /><br />ps. Hey come on guys. Don't you have enough trouble fighting with terriorists without making enemies within your own ranks?<br />Whatever happened to the old addage of accepting other peoples have other view on subjects that don't agree with yours. Hasn't that view got you into enough trouble in the past?<br />For my $0:02 I both work with and hold a deep respect for homosexuals and lesbians. When I was a teenager I thought I would react with anger and/or violence when I met "Those people". Today I've grown with the times and value my friends and associates in whatever position they hold at work and in the community. <br />There's no cancer there, there's no hatred comming from them.<br />A Gay bishop, great! Somebody with realistic insight finally got promoted to the high office.<br />When the time comes God will judge him, and I'd like to be there on that day because I feel God isn't a monster and he might even have a seat on the left for the bishop.<br />Good luck to you sport, now mabey if'n the short sighted lefties were to leave the church there'd be more room for the gay community to have a voice within the religious houses.<br />Ross

I'll be sure to tell my kids thats<br />they way a good society protects its impressionable youth struggling to find themselves<br />were ever that might be. :confused:

I think neumanns put it best why a gay Bishop is wrong. After what has happened in the Catholic church who in the world would trust their male children with an openely gay member of the clergy? - it would be neglectful IMHO<br /><br />As I have said before, based on my experience with a close friend of many years - being gay is not a choice. <br /><br />However, I do know that people chose to act on those impulses. God gave us free will. We all chose. <br /><br />I think a lot of homosexuals were driven into the Catholic priesthood as a way to avoid acting on those impulses and we now see the devistation that has caused.<br /><br />The Episcoplains have a loophole that they are using for gays - they say the Bible is informed and modified by the current society - hence gay is ok cause society says so. That's their loophole anyway.<br /><br />If that's the way the want to run their Church more power to them - as you sow, so shall ye reap. <br /><br />As always just my 2 cents!

I just went back and read my original post and now I am confussed. When I originally posted, the last think I wanted was for an argument to ensue. I honestly did not expect this to sink to the level that it has. If folks want to bash God, let them, God takes care of himself, and those who defy Him. But I am ahsamed and sorry that this thread has come to include personal attacks on fellow board members. Come on folks, We are here to help one another, entertain each other and stuff like that right?<br /><br />The point of my posts is to point out the difference in having a gay CEO of a big corporation, and a gay Bishop in a church. There IS a difference right? :confused: <br /><br />Anyhoo, I guess I'll never be a moderator now :(
