Re: Gay Bishop

I agree with ryan, when i was born I didnt have a choice for skin color.. I did have a choice of sexual preference. If your feeling for same sex partners are strong you need to change. NOT ACCEPT it.

Come on-people.

I don't give rip as to what someone does in their private time.

HOWEVER, if they make their private life a standard for living mine-I HAVE A BIG PROBLEM.

If a certain religion wants to accept certain activities, so be it. Some religions accept canabilism!

Be assured, I will not accept those religions.

The Bible is explicit about "men sharing the same bed". If someone wants to ignore it, so be it at their own peril.

The beauty of the USA, is that we do not promote any ONE religion. Nor, should we deny one that does not harm the citizens.

At the same time, we are denying the religion this country was founded upon-Christianity. If you don't like it, read the constitution and declaration of independence.

The ACLU has misinterpretated those documents with activist judges and uneducated people-thanks to our public educational system. The constitution says: "freedom of religion", not; freedom from it.

Unfortunately, most folks "live for today" and have no concept of the "eternal".

That's my speech.

I will NOT force it (Christianity) upon anyone. However, I'll defend it, to my death. That's my right as a US citizen.

I'm thankful I live here.

Re: Gay Bishop

This reminds me of the McCarthy years when everybody was a'looking under their beds for "reds".
Soon enough if'n folk take a strong reaction to this issue there'll be another inquisition......
What Next? Will we all have to wear "burkha's" and grow a beard to show we're straight?
Ross

And its your generation that make life hell for the "DIFFERENT" People. Untill this generation is all dead. We DIFFERENT FAG people will have to tip toe around you dumb S**ts untill then. I will no longer be posting on this site. I do not share a common ground with most of you. I will not be around Biggoting *******s. I would never wish anyone to have a gay child. But I would hope if you did you would love and support them like mine have for me. I am sorry I even spoke my feelings. I can honestly say im not supprised. I should have known better To say anything Knowing the generation I am dealing with.

Re: Gay Bishop

I dont think the majority of the folks here have a problem with you Chadds. Or a problem if someone is gay or not. It just is the fact of a gay Bishop that doesn't sit right. Even you admitted it was not a good move. I think you may have some useful info to contribute to this site and you should continue to do so.JMHO

Chads,
I'm a different generation then everyone thats been dissaproveing of your sex life, I'm two young to drive a car, and I aggree with the "older" generation.

If everyone is such jerks about not approveing of fags, the the fags should not tell us about it, kiss in public, or hold hands. The idea of gay marrige is also not right.

Re: Gay Bishop

How would everybody feel about a police chief who deals drugs? Kinda sends a wrong message doesnt it? Gay people should have the same rights that everybody else has. But on the other hand they shouldnt have more rights either. If you dont believe what the Bible says maybe you shouldnt be preaching to people about what the bible says and basicaly haveing the blessing of any christian church. Im not saying he doesnt have the right to be gay but he should not have the church standing behind him when the bible clearly states it is wrong to live a gay life.

Re: Gay Bishop

Chads, It does not bother me that you are
gay,And frankly I don't believe it is any of my
business, whether you are or not. That is not the
point. Bringing it out and forcing society to
change traditional moral values to suit a special
interest group that associates itself to decadence
is not acceptable. Not in my time, my fathers
or his fathers time, Its only been in the last few
decades that included "aids" and the me generation
that what ever floats your boat is acceptable.
I believe you should post what you have to say,but
show some maturity and think about what you would
like to say before you get mad and fly off the
handle. :p

Re: Gay Bishop

Just some food for thought.
Take it for what it's worth.

Article

One more comment to all questioning the trust that could be put into this man. Does every person of the opposite gender want to have a sexual relationship with you? If the answer is an obvious no, than why would that change whether someone is gay or staight?

DALET
I believe gays want the social acceptance that a
traditional marriage license implies. That is
why they lobby there cause for the laws to be
changed, were the rest of society may be leaning
away from the sanctity of the piece of paper.

Re: Gay Bishop

Rod Knocking, you ask if I'd trust my child to this man.
We already do. In the community there's numerous gay men and women already working for buisiness and within the church. They have to keep quiet for fear of loosing the chance to worship in the house of God. Believe me they're there already, looking after the adults as well. They aren't hitting on folk, they're not rapists or murderers. But a lot of folk would have us believe that they are!
My faith and trust is placed squarely with two friends, one female and one male who are openly gay. They hold my admiration for their ability to function within todays society. They also have my respect and that of my family as best of friends.
I'm also aware there's more people I know who may not have announced their personal situation, but again I have no fear for their intentions.

I was once a very religous man who worshipped and praised with my family, I found over the years that the very people whom I sat with were far more deviant than the people they persecute.
Enough said.
Ross

PS - I've just decided to pray tonight for the first time in 20+ years. I will pray for the Bishop and I will hope he has strength and fortitude for the comming months. If his equalls felt strong enough to promote him then he deserves the chance and I would not knock it at all.

Re: Gay Bishop

What two consenting adults do in thier own bedrooms is thier business. Not mine or yours or the governments.
A gay priest/pastor/minister that chooses to "tells" has other motives that are not in the churches best interests, or has an axe to grind.
A gay scoutmaster that "tells" has other motives as well. And those motive are certainly not in the scouts best interests.
A black man that wants to join the KKK has other motives and an axe to grind as well.
So would a female wanting to join an all male club.
The black man, female, and gay all are equal and have equal rights. However, it's the other motives that are infringing on the original members beliefs and rights.
If you want to be a openly gay priest, start your own church and leave the beliefs of the others alone!
The priest knew the beliefs, thoughts and rules of his religion when he first got involved with it. To want to change the rules now is sour grapes, imposing, selfish and certainly unethical.

I also can't help but notice there is a lot of people, "mere mortals", that are spouting who's going to hell and who isn't. If that isn't a bit presumptuous. Funny how you'd spout select scripture and not have the insight to know who has that final judgement, even inspite of what your book says.

And also.
If you don't like a particular subject thread, politics, religion, Friday funnies or Honda carbs. Don't click on it!!
