Im changing gear oil on three motors and hoping I can use the same oil for all three. The motors are 1957 18 hp Evinrude # 15922, 1970 6 hp # 6002b and a 1975 50 hp Johnson # 50esl75b. I don't much shelf space in the garage with all my other junk. Also what type of oil should I use? Thanks

Re: Gear case oil

Well, your 18 and your 6 will use the same oil, but your 50 will most likely be different. If you go to your local marine dealer and let them know what you have, (s)he will get the right stuff for you. Typically, the older manual shift motors will take a High Viscosity Gear Lube for manual shift motors.
