First you have to figure out what exactly you have. The last Gale motors were built in 1963.
Is it the shift lever on the side of the powerhead you need? Most of them are different than J/E because of the different hood shape. However sometimes a substitute might work but look funny. In other cases a substitute won't clear the hood.
Come up with a model number and we can give you the part number and you can start looking.
