Hi
So long story short I didn't drain my leg on my 1963 Merc 500, and came to find the prop pushed out this spring.
The $140 "BEARING-CARRIER-ASSEMBLY" is cracked in 2 spots, which I'll need, along with new bearings and rings.
Also the $5 "Threaded keeper-Ring" as best I can call it, is toast. the threads are Fubar, thanks to Ice I assume.
I've been told I need to use a rod and put some kind of pin in the bottom of the leg, from the top. Which I can imagine isn't easy. Yet it is a 63' so its all nice and basic.
Can someone tell me what parts I'll need, and summarize the Repair for me? Is there other parts inside the leg, that are likely broken? I have yet to pull it off and look myself. Please help me save my summer
