tommays, May be I should just get the Merc manual from Mercury then. The water build up is like condensation, right? I don't think I use blended gas, I usually go to Chevon to fill up. There are two blue hoses in the engine, they told me its for draining the water inside the engine, may be I should unplug it and see if any water inside as well.

i think you should slow down till you understand boats better<br /><br />the dealer should have shown you things like the blue quick drain hoses and in general explained how your boat works as part of selling it to you if he did not than they IMHP did a poor job<br /><br />tommays

Tommays---I thought the Clymer manual might be an easier read for Riverworlk to start with. They have a basic intro on tools you need, boating terms and prop setup.<br /><br />Plus the Merc manuals are twice the price (I know they provide more detail and parts breakdown.)<br /><br />I am just ready to graduate to the Merc manuals myself.

tommays, you are right! the dealer did a lousy job delivering the boat to us. One of the trailer lights wasn't working. My wife and I spent 5 hours cleaning the inside of the boat (eg. seats, carpet....etc). We are in the desert and was windy during summer time. They actually left my boat under the sun for 5 days before we picked it up. The tires were dirty and all that. The guy was in a hurry, didn't explain much about everything, just roughly went through the important things. He didn't tell me I should get a prop wrench and a spare prop in case something happen on the lake. Well, He took us to the lake and showed us how to launch the boat. But guess what, he didn't show us how to drive the boat back onto the trailer. He was in a hurry to go. It took my wife and I over 1 hour trying to put the boat back onto the trailer. I already filed a complaint to the manager and trashed them with the SeaRay survey! <br /><br />ddboater, you are right, the Clymer is only $25 from Amazon and the Merc manual is $35 from Mercury. So, which manual I should get. See, I told you guys, I know absolutely nothing about marine engine. But I am glad I found this site, you guys are very helpful.

to all<br />i have many brand x manuals and find that despite trying to be more for the DIY person they cover so many things they become harder to understand but that is just my opion<br /><br />i want to open a book and have it only have cover what i am working on and not be conufused by things that are not on my motor/drive setup <br /><br />you might try to see if there is a boat club in you area that teaches boating saftey i am sure they would be happy to help you get off to a safer start to your boating life and teach you all the things that stink when you learn them the hard way<br /><br />tommays

River---If you are going to do a lot of work yourself, go right to the Merc Manuals---that is what the shops use.<br /><br />If you just want general information and an understanding of terms and how things work, I would start with Clymer.

ddboater,thanks for the advice. I won't be doing any work myself. The boat is still under warranty. I just get the Clymer manual from Amazon.com and read thru the whole thing. It should be interesting and hopefully it will give me a good understanding of marine engine. And when I take my boat to the dealership, they can't BS with me saying this is normal, that is normal anymore.
