Gear lube

Someone gave me a couple quarts of this gear lube is this ok to use in an Alpha one drive. Thanks

I disagree. Outdrives are gearboxes. Water contamination leading to lack of lubricity damages them. Or no lubricant at all... There are, in actuality, very few oil companies producing gear oil. Most of it is rebranded and sold. I'd use it.

Use it, it will only be there for a year. If it was no good do you think sierra would risk a lawsuit by selling it?

Some oils are not compatible. Unless you can ensure that the lower unit was drained 100% I wouldn't use it. It's a 1000:1 shot, so you have to ask yourself if you feel lucky. One time I wasn't!
