Have you tried refilling the reservoir with the drive off, to see if the dribble valve is closed when its button isn't depressed?

could you explain to me what you mean or what This would look like? I can’t visualize it

Ayuh,..... That valve is just a plastic assembly that slips into an aluminum hole in the housin',....

Ayuh,... a couple inches or so down from the top of the drive, port-side is the Vent Screw,.....

If the drive is trimmed up, 'n the vent leaks, gravity brings it right down to where yer seein' the oil,....

Hmmm. The vent screw, isn’t that on my starboard side? According to the pics I attached, I’m assuming the screw you speak of to be on the starboard side on the face of the bell housing. I’m seeing more of the leak on the port/passenger side of the bell housing. Am I confused?

thanks!

Disregard, I know what your talking about. You said vent was on the port side, I thought you were saying the dribble valve was on the port side.

so pull the dribble valve out, clean it up, etc...?

sounds good-I’ll give it a shot.

I think Bondo is on to something. Make sure that plug has a gasket... looks like a washer.

Thank you all for the input. I serviced the drive this weekend and replenished the gear oil, all new gaskets, etc.... I did notice that the vent screw had 2 gaskets in there. Not 100% sold that was the issue, but none the less everything is put back together and ready to hit the water. Ran it on muffs for a while and went through the gears, there were no noticeable leaks or problems. Time will tell.
