Gear oil?

Hi everyone, hopefully this will be my last question for a little while (unless my overhaul has gone wrong !!!)
I have some quicksilver high performance gear lube, will it be ok for my Fisherman 6hp 1968?

I'm not familiar with the Quicksilver gearlube BUT if it states it's for the manual shift engines, and being a Mercury, what else would it be..... I would assume that it would be just fine.

Normally the 6hp would use a gearlube entitled as "HiVis" 80/90w, available at Wal*Mart, K-Mart, other various stores, and of course your local dealership.
