Engine details are, E50DPLSRC Serial no 05058553. Engine will not engage reverse, further investigation discovered that the shift rod inside the cowl attaches to a small horizontal shaft, at each end of this shaft are nylon bushes, the one on side of engine where cables come in (starboard side) can not come out because of shift quadrant but nylon bush on Port side is lying free on shaft, this is causing lost movement and lots of freeplay, there is nothing on shaft to prevent this bush from coming out, when enough washers were fitted on shaft to prevent it coming out it goes into gear no bother, does this indicate somthing missing or could this be E-Tec problem? many thanks JBD

I'd look up the motor parts pics on the BRP site and see what is missing. My guess is a plastic spacer. It probably broke and fell off.If I read your model number right it's a 2004,so it must have worked until now.If it's old stock, new out of the crate, call Bombardier. No reason you should be needing to add "washers".

2004 E- tec isn't that still on warranty? The last add I seen said 3-10 years (3 year with a big screen TV).
