i wanted to start a new thread for this as some people know my other thread I-R outdrive lub question.
i priced out a drive shaft average price $400, i also have to repair skag there is not much there to work with so this will cost alot to repair not sure how much and my prop needs work they said $100 for that. SO what i'm saying is i can buy a bottom end rebuilt or a new one for almost the same as my repair prices. I'm trying to find in manual #6 what the gear ratio is so i can buy the same but i can't find it can some one direct me in the right direction this is what's on the tag for s/n one side says 1 84R on the other side 6325071 it's a 1983 I-R outdrive

the overall ratio of the drive is determined by the tooth count ratio in the upper all the lowers have the same ratio putting a new one on it will be the same you don't have to worry about it the 1.84R is telling you that the drive is 1.84:1 and it is an r drive i hope this is easy for you to read i added some punctuation and capitalisation to your original post other people might find it easier to read than the original post was to hard to read so i took the time to add the correct things hope you dont mind

I would look at buying a used or rebuilt unit. Might fine a whole drive and sell off what you dont want. You might have stressed a bunch of stuff and be better with a complete drive+ plus a labor cost of one hour.
