gearbox interchange

I have a 20hp chrysler engine coming which has a broken gearbox, i dont know any more details but does anyone know if ia 15hp gearbox will fit, i have a 15hp that has a knackered powerhead and i want to try and make one good worker

Nope! Not interchangeable at all. They are a completely different series of engine. Now if it were a 9.9 and a 15 then you would have something. However, there were two different series of 35 hp engines and I THINK the lower unit from one would fit the 20. Be careful if you run across one of these 35s.

Repost when you find out exactly what is wrong with the lower on the 20.

Knackered? Are you from across the pond or down under?

hi, thanks for that, the 20 has been dropped and the housing in completely broke and the drive shaft is bent, should be with me tomorrow. im in the wet and windy uk,

do you know if the drive shaft would be the same? was thinking if i could swap the upper housing?

please can someone help me with sorting some postage out?? I have seen the uppercase and drive shaft(will the 15hp driveshaft be the same?) for a 20hp but the guy hasn't replied to any emails, is there anyone that could ship it to the uk for me?
