I have a NS18C2 (2 stroke 18HP) that had water in the oil when I got it. I've got the gearcase partially loose, but can't get it the rest of the way off. It seems the driveshaft is stuck in the crankshaft.
I've thought to try turning the motor upside down and spraying ScrewLoose (penetrating oil) onto the shaft, and let it drip towards the power head.
Also to try and wedge the cases apart with the engine running to heat the crank end.
I've see the idea to loosen the power head bolts and try prying at the other end. Any tricks that have worked out, or things to avoid? Glad for any ideas.
