Gearcase vent plug washer?

I have a 79 Evinrude 115hp. I purchased the nylon washer for the drain plug for the gearcase. I noticed the nylon washer for the drain plug doesn't fit for the vent screw. Does anyone know the part number for the vent screw nylon washer?

To get a part number you can go to www.ishopmarine.com. you can easily look up an exploded view of you motor and get the part number.
If you plan to order the parts on line you can get it from iboats.com

They should be exactly the same unless someone put an oversized vent screw in there. How far off is it?

I have looked at many different things like that but they only mention the drain screw washer. I was hoping someone knew what vent screw washer is needed?

it is a different part and the number is 31-1598

The thread and seal for the vent and fill screws should be the same (OEM 0311598) unless you have one of the screws that required an o-ring. The ones with the o-ring have a recessed cap and take o-ring OEM part number 0333572.

I took a picture of the two screws. There are definitely two different sizes. The screw holes on the lower unit look original.

Yep, someone did a "repair" at some point. You can probably find a nylon washer that will fit the smaller plug at a hardware store. I'd also be replacing that screw with a shorter shouldered stainless bolt.

I looked up your motor. the fill O-ring comes with the bolt. I included the part number for the vent screw in my last post.

Looking at the picture, is the screw on the right the fill? If so I stand by my part numbers.

Thanks for the replies. I took a picture of the drain and vent screw holes. Do they look normal? I cannot tell if they have been repaired. As for the first picture, The long screw(right) is for the vent hole and the short screw(left) is for the fill.

Edit. Put that back and find the other slotted screw. That's the bearing setscrew which you do not want to remove.

It came with an o-ring as well.

Sierra 18-4248 is the aftermarket replacement for OEM #0311598.
