Gearcase water seal replacement

Does any one know how to remove the brass seal holder where the gearshift rod enters the gearcase on a 7.5hp outboard?
To clarify it is part number 6 in the following diagram: http://www.boats.net/parts/search/Ho...ASE/parts.html
