Hello, I am new to outboards and just got a 1980 evinrude 9.9 it sat for 2 years and just started right up with the 2 year old gas! But no water coming out the telltail. Opened up the gearcase to find very little oil and it was coffee colored with water. I got a new pump and ordered a seal kit which I have to figure out how to install. How do you seal the cases back together? I saw no gaskets and I see no gasket in the water pump.

Hi capt<br />There is one more part you will need to obtain. A manual, Iboats sells them at the bottom of this page. In my opinion they offer them at a very reasonable price. Now if you don't want to fork out the money for the book,you my be able to find a copy at your public library. The problem with this last idea is, this time of year these volumes become quite popular. The nice thing about having your own is you will always have it when you need it.

alcan, Thank you for the responce. I have a manual coming but I am am just a little impatiant to get this new toy fixed. Thanks again
