I have two pencil eraser size chips on back of boat (bottom). I have a white gel coat and have been thinking of using the evercoat scratch repair gel coat system. Now, I have read the reviews and most say it did not harden. Is this because they did not block the air from the repair? Has anyone here used it with success? If so any tips? I know color matching is a challenge but you will not ever see it unless you crawl under.

I've used it with success. Never had hardener issues and even managed some color match.

I used it to repair a hanful of chips on the bottom...worked well....I would recommend (as I think the package does too ) to tape off around the chip as close as possible to minimize your sanding afterward. Color match was rediculous though....added some white to the base...was WHITE WHITe compared to my hull....added like a pin head size of black and it went battleship gray ....just went white white....like you said its on the bottom cant even really see it if you back up a couple of feet.
