Hey everyone, I have a 2010 Tahoe Q5SF and the other day when I was washing down the boat I noticed some cracks around the inside of the rear storage compartment . My question is how serious are the gel coat fractures and how hard is that to repair?

Gel coat cracks are common on fiberglass boats. You are probably better just to leave them alone. Some boat mfg's sell gel coat repair kits that are an exact match to your boat.
Check with your boat mfg to see if they do.

Cracks in gel coat are the result of physical damage, manufacturer's defect or an underlying structural flaw. There certainly shouldn't be any on a 3 year old boat unless it was physical damage

Do you have some pictures that you can post. That helps folks see what you are seeing.

It is always nice to have a boat without gelcoat cracks. Any warranty that is still in effect?

hairline cracks are a pain to fix. they are filled with air or water and have tiny curled up edges. If you paint or epoxy over them they re-appear when the air or water in them expands. Capt Tolleys creeping crack cure (sold at lots of places) works to 'get into the crack' and displace any air.

I dont have any pics to post yet but maybe tomorrow, and the warranty was only one year on the top of the hull.
