Been doing a lot of searches as I begin to research for my upcoming winter project and all of you guys are a wonderful help!

Ok my question is are these cracks just in the gelcoat?

Yea, superficial cracks caused by the boat slamming into the dock or whatever. You're going to find them most anywhere there is some undue stress on the boat. They usually are relatively easy to fix but with a metalflake job it might just not be the easiest refinishing project. Could also come from people stepping on the gunwales as well. I don't feel that you have a lot to worry about concerning the safety of the boat.

Re: Gelcoat Cracks?

hey thanks for the reply, that was what I was thinking they were, just wanted to make sure they were not a safety concern and you answered me on that.

I will probably either be painting it myself this winter or getting it painted depending on work and cost involved.
