Gen II U-joint Bellows Question

My trim switches and wiring are toast so I have to yank it apart to replace those. While in there I'll be doing all of the bellows and see in the new switch instructions that the bell housing side of the u-joint bellows is held in place by an aluminum sleeve. Am I going to need special tools to remove or re-install that? I have a slide hammer and a brass drift and am skilled at gently removing and installing things with those tools.

Thanks,
Chris

That sleeve is stainless, not aluminum. I just pop them out with a screwdriver, then use some powertuner on the new one to push it into place by hand.

I must have misread then. But stainless is even better. This should be a piece of cake.
Already found a thread where you posted trim sensor replacement instructions from Merc, so I think I'm set.

Thanks for the info.

Ayuh,... Thanks once again for the Power tune tip, Don,...

Last winter, I used that Trick, pressin' rubber bushin's into a Cat hyd. pump flange adapter,...
The bushin's Looked twice the size of the holes,...
but a shot of Power tune, 'n a press popped 'em in, like a hot knife through warm butter... ;)

Bobby, 'n I have found All sortsa uses, besides bellows lock rings,...
