I have a cowl that seems to always catch my wires (1987 90hp), and the older plug wires were arching and shorting to the latches and back of cowl.
So I turned all 4 coils around (primary and secondary pointing toward the crank), I will be getting brand new wires, but I used the old ones to see how I could route them away from the latch area, as the cover is lowered.
Now wires go thru the head mounting coil stand-offs, and touch the head...If I'm using good quality wires, would this present any issues?? I want to keep as much clearance in back as I can to avoid catching and arcing etc..
