1975 85 hp evinrude gets hot after idling 10 min running on muffs has small amount water comming out of exaust seems to be pumping water could it be thermostat or impeller

Why guess? When was the last time the water pump and thermostat were serviced-replaced? If you don't know or can't remember, nows the time.

your 100% right just trying to learn as i go without tearing things up didnt even know they had a thermostat till i read it on hear pertty sharp people out there
