So I finally got my latest "Ebay" find; a 12/1982 Chysler Marine Service Manual for 45 & 50hp outboards and I'm liking it. I got lucky and found it
for $11.00 but it does, of course, have a limited audience. My engine is
a 1983 50hp so it was perfect. Regardless of the type, however, having
the manual allows me to understand how components of the OB works,
even if I don't fully 'get it'. Now, though, if Frank or Jerry gives me advice,
at least I can reference the book to get a better feel for what the heck
they're talking about.

If you're new to OB maintenance/repair, take the advice you'll receive about
getting a manual that covers your particular engine. It WILL make a lot
of difference! Just my 2 cents.
