Getting a treat tomorrow......a treat for me anyway

Every year my entire family rents a house down on the gulf large anough to accomodate all of us. Total count is about 30 folks. This year it is in San Destin, FL. Everyone, including my wife Donna has been down there since this past Saturday except myeslf, a nephew and one of my sisters son-in-law. The treat is the son-in-law is picking the nephew and me up at a local private airstrip. I've alway had a huge interest in aviation and would probably be doing it for a living if I still had both my eyes.

Gibson, the sisters son-in-law, family own a rather large farming operation up in the MS delta around Greenville. Their main crop is rice along with soybeans, corn and milo. The farm also owns a flying service which Gibson operates as well as over sees the day to day operation of the farm. I haven't done anything like this in quite a few years. I'm really looking forward to it. I'll be driving back with Donna.

Sounds awesome!! The Caterpillar Dealer I used to work for had an airstrip on the property. Smack dab in the middle of LA Proper too. Hard to believe but true. I flew with the owner to Lake Powell in his private plane. Had my bag with me at the office, got a call at 2ish and walked over to the hangar. It was sooooo cool. Have fun!!

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. All I got to have with me when he flies in to pick us up is my butt. All my clothes and stuff went down with the wife in her vehicle. I will, however, have a little softside cooler with a few grownup sassparillas in it ! ! ! !

Cmon down, the waters beautiful, and the fish are bitin' its hot as heck though! Lol... Maybe ill see ya floatin around... If you see a black glastron gt-150 with a tall goofy lookin dude on it (me) chillin at crab island, putt (or walk) on over and say hi! Our tourists are finally coming back down after the oil spill! Beaches are gorgeous!

And that air strip is in my backyard, so to speak.... and its kinda scary coming into on a small plane... Looks like your goin down too fast! But its fun.... Anywho, have a blast! Spend as much $$ as you can down here! We need it! And if you have any question about activities or great charter boats shoot me a pm and ill hook ya up! Ive lived here for 24 years.....

This is IMO the best place in Fla. to visit, our family does the same kind of trip every spring, and this location is always our first choice. They just have so many fun things to do you cant go wrong. Fishing, golf, beaches (are the best) or just laying around chilling. I will consider this place when I retire, it's that nice.

OK, got in yesterday.....flight was good no weather. Had to fly around a couple thunder heads but that was it. We actually landed in Sandestin and the house we're in is down in Sants Rosa. Real nice place. Relocyo, I wish I'd read this post earlier, the brother in law has been looking for a charter but they're all booked and we're leaving saturday.
