I read earlier how to get boat off trailer, lowering tongue getting jack stands under rear and sliding trailer out till you can brace under keel.

jack stands were refered to as "wooden stands" i was planning on my reg vehicle stands with good size piece of wood shimed for angle in rear.

anything wrong with metal stands as long as something on top and don't go through bottom??

thanks again

No, should work fine. They need to be tall enough to reach the boat without extending out to their limits and thereby making them unstable to lateral loads. You'll be applying a fair amount of load as you pull the trailer forward (load in the direction the trailer is moving.

Just consider this...... you are attempting to balance wood on a jackstand then add a boat ?????

If I were working on it I would want VERY stable supports and the wood are the easy ones to make.

THINK STABILITY

THINK SAFETY
