Re: getting boat on trailor

It's simple physics . . . your rollers are OK. Your trailer doesn't look any different than most . . .

A new gear reducing winch should do the trick!

As a last resort if that doesn't make it as easy as you would like it, without going to an electric winch . . .

There are pads that I saw on a few online sites that go over your current carpeted bunks which would make the boat slide on even easier.

http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/s...er=1072&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults

My only concern with these pads is they might make your boat too slippery like when you forget to put the transoms ties on and whip around a corner a little too hard . . .

I'd go with the new crank first, since the one you have now is probably old.

Report back and let us know if any of these suggestions solved your problem.

Or just get a girlfriend with some "BIG BICEPS" hahahahah

Do a search on bunk slicks. You can get them online or at any BassPro,cabelas, ect.
They make a huge difference and can be installed in about 10 minutes.
My old starcraft boat was really hard to get on and off the trailer until i added the slicks. Then i could push it off with one hand..
Plus adding them will actually raise the bunk height about an 1/8 to 1/4 inch and take a little weight off the keel rollers helping them roll better also..

I'm guessing that you are sticking to the bunks as well. Another quick and inexpensive option is to spray "Liquid Rollers" on the bunks. This stuff is available at most marine centers. When the boat is in the water and the bunks are dry, spray this stuff on the bunks and nothing will stick to them.

Re: getting boat on trailor

I just came across this and I see another poster has already mentioned it.

Well here is a link I was posting for you anyway on the spray stuff:

http://www.overtons.com/modperl/pro...&pdesc=Slydz_On_Spray_On_Bunk_Lubricant_16_oz

Actually, on the Bunk slicks . . . I'm going to pick some up myself. I have a few spots where the bunk carpet is already wearing through (new trailer is only 1 month old) because my boat has these big rivets along the bottom edge of the transom.

I figure these pads are a good way to cover up those holes and the rivets will be resting on the slicks instead of futher destroying the carpet. The wood that is showing will only scratch the hull eventually.

The boat will slide on and off easier too.

Alrighty now . . . look what I just found to solve my problem: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/t...=mode+matchall&Nty=1&Ntt=bunk+slide&noImage=0

The other slicks said "not for use with riveted hulls".

These bunk ends should work out great fo me. I'll pick them up with a bottle of that spray too :)

Bunk slips do make boat slide on easier, however they also will allow it to slide off easier too.Don't get a big hurry at a busy ramp and forget to tie boat to trailer before pulling up ramp. Not a very pleasant feeling having boat slide off half way up. Not too mention extremely embarrassing!!

Hypothetically speaking of course,I'm way to much a skilled master mariner to have such a problem. L.O.L.

The only bright side to that little life's lesson was it was my Buddy's boat(not mine).
