Re: Getting my boat riged for fishing.

I just came across this thread again and got to thinking what I couldn't live without on my boat:

1- Sonar/graph
2- rubber net (no trebles stuck in the net= less fish mortality)
3- electric transom mount (I would like a bow mount, but you might get that first depending on your style of fishing)
4- fish attractant / flavor spray
5- Downeast Rod Holders

Stuff that I really am going to obtain/install this year:
1- GPS with Navionics charts
2- aerated livewell
3- temperature probe
4- Electric fish attractor like ProTroll

Money-not-an-issue things I would get:
1- Bimini top and curtains
2- Evinrude eTec
3- second sonar/graph
4- Cordless MinnKota bow mount
5- Custom under-floor 10 gallon fuel tank
6- heater for cold-weather trolling

Trolling motor (especially in rivers)
good anchor
Drift sock(slows your drift in winds)
Depth finder
Good sunglasses
I tend to bring 2light poles per person plus i bring 2 heavy setups if i decide to run for some bigger stuff.
Seatow membership(best tool in the boat)
Join a local fishing forum if possible and you will learn more about the area.
Bimini for the summer makes things bearable but get in the way as well.
If you decide to leave the river make sure you have all safety equip.
I have a livewell but i tend to use it as a cooler to throw the fish on ice because sometimes theyare to big to survive in there.
an aerated baitwell would be nice to have.
You dont really need a ton of tackle but the more the better.

Where the heck are you??! In Vermont we need the bimini to keep the heat in and provide an anchor point for the side curtains :)

The television journalist is obviously not used to spinning gear. He he.

Good ole Florida.. Tallahassee to be exact. It's tough to stay cool when it is 90+out. I would imagine that where you are in the summer its not to hard to stay warm.
