Planning on getting a new 25 hp. Make doesn't really matter to me, Any suggestions? Yamaha, Honda, Evinrude, Johnson, Mercury, Suzuki, Nissan, Tohatsu, It will be a tiller and 2 or 4 stroke also doesn't matter.

Whatever you can afford, feel comfortable with and has a good repair network or closest dealer you feel you can trust.

Local dealer. Visit all of them and discuss your situation. Get a feel for how they are. Do they understand what you need? Do they have a decent service shop?

Make your decision based on who has the best customer service. All those engines are fine.

If you really don't care, I don't either. Get the color you like and have fun.

Always buy the pretty one. A nice dark shade of blue perhaps

You do not sound too fussy about what you get. In that case go with the best deal, warranty, dealer location combination that you can.

Since Johnson is fading away I`d go with a Honda. You must above all else consider service from a good local dealer as to wich make you purchase.
The old OMCS were good motors. Until recently Bombardier build an old school 2 stroke Johnston in this range.
I say go with a Honda because Honda has a sweet 25 horse motor, Quiet and smooth.
Like I said you are shopping for service first motor second. All makes are a good bet for reliabilty.
