Getting rid of carpet glue

In the basement of our church someone glued down carpet. Would have been fine if it hadn't gotten wet; but it did. We pulled up the carpet. But the glue is a bear. Anyone know how to get carpet glue off of cement?

I am sure a metal scrapper with a long handle might be able to do it. <br /><br /><br />On our cemented front porch it used to have the all weather carpet and I got rid of it and there is the glue on the floor. I Scrapped it and most of it came ou and also I pressure hose it. The porch looks good and i repainted it with non slip paint (like those use in garage with fine sand mixed in.)

i had the same in my house spent 8 hrs on hands and knees with a ptty scraper getting it off the hardwood floors,if it is fairly new glu say from mid 980s til today you can try very very hot water in a spray bottle and let it sit then srape,

Carpet glue can be a real pita...but you have one advantage...concrete. Use a heat gun to soften, putty knife to remove. A propane torch works well too, but watch the fumes. Use lots of ventilation.

So, NoelMG, are you suggesting explosives, or are you saying that the propane torch or heat gun could be explosive.<br /><br />Thanks Xcusme, I hadn't thought of heat.

Sugesting explosives. Sorry for the confusion.<br /><br />Usually more than once a day I can find something that a little boomer could take care of.
