Re: Getting rid of fleas in the house
Have the dog treated, then call a pro. I do houses for $95, a lot cheaper than all the hassle and expense of buying inferior over the counter products. I'll tell you how I treat a house, and maybe that will help.

1. Have the dog treated by a vet.

2. Destroy all dog bedding, indoors and out.

3. Vacuum all carpeted surfaces in the house, under all cushions of seating, get rid of bag immedietly.

4. remove all bedding, wash immediatly, leave all mattresses bare.

5. Remove everything from the floor except furniture.

If the customer has not done all of this by the time I get there, I do not do the service. It must be done on the day I will treat, and the pet/people cannot be there while I treat. I then do the following:

1. Treat all carpet, uphostery, cushions, couches, mattress with growth regulators as well as insecticides. Of the top of my head I would say at least five different chemicals are involved to do it right.

2. Treat all cracks in linoleum, hardwood, baseboards with same chemicals.

3. Treat exterior perimeter of home, especially where dog frequents the most.

You are urinating in gale force winds if you are not targeting everything I have mentioned when trying to get rid of fleas. That is why people pay me $95. A lot easier, isn't it?
