Re: Getting rid of porpoise/getting boat dialed in.
Glad you said the bracket was 5" above the bottom of the keel cause if it wasn't it would drag in front of the engine, creating turbulence that could lead to cavitation among other things.

don't know where you get 3500# Let's see:
150hp 450#
30 gal fuel 200
4 fishermen 1000
Tackle 500
Beer 750....oops too much beer. Grin
Boat 1500 on the outside

Yeah I guess you would be running that heavy.

Nothing wrong with your 45-46 with that rig.

On your question about speed, you would need a step in the hull; lifting strakes or better still a pad (water ski) to run on to reduce the wetted surface, hence water resistance hence more speed and proportionally more pitch in the prop. And then a little lift to get some of the lower unit out of the water.

Sounds to me like your only problem is deciding to use the trim as it was intended.....to trim out the boat, and if you have to tuck it in a little to stop porposing, then tuck her in baby and don't look back. Just takes a second and the trim switch is right under your thumb.

What are you griping about?????

Mark
