I think from the post that I just read at "Boating: A womans point of view"

You should just call your boat...."Dawn's Boat". :p:D

Re: Getting The Wife Out Boating

I didn't have to get my wife into boating. When we moved to Marshfield, MA she told me we needed a boat. That was 15 years ago..... Last year we purchased an old Grady White with and old Merc 115. Well, the boat is toast and we have been looking for a hull for our Merc. All we've found is more junk and shady deals. Then on Sunday we spotted a 1993 Grady White 228G that is in great shape. My wife is now in the process of buying the boat! She calls it her boat but it's really for the three of us.....I think......

Re: Getting The Wife Out Boating

Just wanted to say that I researched to boat, negotiated the price, went for a test drive (and drove it) got the mooring, and am planning on geting out to our little 17 ft to clean it today - and I'm the wife! Not that hubby is unwilling, just too busy with work. Monday I am taking it in to have two new coils replaced and the idle adjusted. We just got it (1996 Sunbird Spirit 170) and am so looking forward to taking it out! Glad to see another woman poster, although I never thought about it being so male dominated. I like your idea about the sports bottles!

Re: Getting The Wife Out Boating

My wife enjoys riding in the boat, will back it the rest of the way down on the trailer if I have it all lined up, will park the car with trailer, pull the boat up with me in it. She will not drive the boat. I sure wish she would, I want to do some hydrosliding. But her late dad was one of these guys who would not teach her how to do things or let her use any machinery. I have tried to teach her to drive a stick, she does OK at it but is convinced she can't do it. She says the boat "steers funny" as it steers like a forklift.

Basically, I want to dig him up and kick his butt for this fear he instilled in this gal before I met her.
