I know I haven't been posting as much, but what happened to you two?

It seems that about 5 or 6 members make up the majority of the posts in Dockside Chat now, I wonder why that is.

Anyway, how'd you do Deer huntin GG?

.....and, TyGuy, I can't wait to hear your next Gerbil story. ;)

Re: GG and TyGuy

Tyguy is on a duck hunting trip right now.

My deer season was not a good one. I missed a big hat racker and a bear with the bow. I changed my arrow rest to a whisker biscuit. Doing this, caused me to reduce my fletchings from a 4" to a 3". Sighted in fine with field tips put the broadheads on and hunted (mistake). After missing a couple times, tried sighting in with the broadheads, arrows were diving low after 10 yards. So because I wrecked 6 thunderheads sighting in, I had to buy more--no luck everyone sold out. So yes, I took the Carp's advice and put some Muzzy 100's on, and took a bear with them. I took a small 6 point with the rifle, he was wounded (by my cousin), so I put him down and gave the deer to him. Long and short of it, no fresh venison in my freezer this year :(

As far as not posting as much, just waiting for the right topic to come up ;)

Re: GG and TyGuy

Well, sorry to hear about your luck GG. :(
I ended up taking a decent 7-pointer behind my house, and a decent 8-pointer on a special hunt at the Crane Naval surface warfare center. Notice I said decent, nothing really to brag about. (I also shot a doe with the bow and one with the gun).
I got lots of venison, but really sorta disappointed. Almost every person that I hunt with shot huge bucks this year! I'm either taking a huge one next year, or i'm going without.

Nice to see you become a Muzzy man. ;)

......anyway, does Tylerin know that them ducks fly awfully fast, hes gonna have a hard time catchin 'em. :p

Re: GG and TyGuy

It's hunting Carp, and as you know it's all about what we see out there, not always about what we bring home. I saw more deer this year than I have in previous years, but the big ones were hiding for some reason. Last night was my last night with the bow. Had a big doe and 2 of last years fawns right below me (hoping for a bone head to be following them) and I basically just watched them for awhile, kinda cool.

I do like the way that the blades interlock on the Muzzy's, that is a pretty good idea.

Ah, Tylerin's pretty good with that Benneli of his. And as he tells me, it is ungentlemanly to shoot a bird flying at full speed. You have to wait until they drop their feet and are ready to land before you blast them ;)

are you aware that the human body actually has two "spheinksters". look it up in an anatomy book or google it. one for incoming, one for outbound, or visa versa.
