Re: Gheenoe stretch and widening

Always remember you're essentially making a one of a kind prototype by hand. There are going to be lots of unforeseen issues and speed bumps, but it will all be well worth it in the end. Plus, once the hull is squared away, so to speak, the decks and rigging will seem pretty straight forward. I heard there is/was an +18ft. Gheenoe model the factory was gonna make, but I'm not sure what became of it. Keep us posted. Stay warm, it's getting a little chilly up here at night this week.

lol . A bit chilly here too in Tampa. Not cold enough to keep me off the water tomorrow , but cold enough not to be glassing early.

The is an 18' gheenoe. Pugar told me only around 6 exist. Mine is 19' 1/4'' lol .

What are you gonna power her with? Seems like it could handle a pretty big motor.

80 hp is what we are designing for her to hold. Main reason for the stringers.

That should be sweet. A nice Yami 2-stroke or Etec would still keep it fairly light in the stern too. I'm guessing the 80hp would push her around 40-45mph, or do you think she'll break 50mph?

That's nice - Don't get it from Harvey. But also don't post in topics that have been inactive for 90 days or more. Please start a new topic. Thanks.
