Re: Giants win the superbowl

I would recommend some restraint, Angus.

We know that the Giants beat two better teams (season records) that had previously beaten them (one twice) to become world champions, and that they earned the crown. (Please note they, not you,)

Dignified pride is much more attractive than claims of glory earned by others.

Gotta call you on this one JB

Restraint? Would there be a tickertape parade down the canyon of heroes in New York City if restraint was the proper reaction to such a season? I watched several war veterans we met (including my Pop) weep with joy after the final second ticked off the clock! Restraint?

The Giants lost by a combined 80 pts to dallas and greenbay to start the season. Lost to dallas again mid season. Lost to patriots last game and squeeked in as a 5 seed.

Check the previous posts in December, I do not see any restraint (even on your part) to hype your favorite and rule out the Giants. WE beat a "better" Tampa Bay. We beat a "better" dallas. We beat a "better" Greenbay. We beat a "better" patriot "team".

After 32 years of trecking 150 miles every Home game and bleeding blue, restraint? After spending 30 hours in airports and tons of cash to attend and root FANatically for the team you were born into, restraint?

Restraint should be reserved for the excuses that flow from those who did not reach their ultimate objective.

Dignified? American Heritage Dictionary defines "dignify" as "To raise the status of (something unworthy or lowly); make honorable"

The Giants were considered unworthy and I'm here to make them honorable.

Pride? Guilty as charged.

Others? The first person thanked by the Giants ownership while raising Vince Lombardi's Trophy was the loyal Giants Fans who make the franchise what it is today.

I hope everyone who has a passion for something enjoys the thrill of reaching their ultimate objective as I have, for there is no better feeling.

I am a NEW YORK GIANTS FAN and WE ARE SUPERBOWL CHAMPIONS

GO GIANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

......catchin alot of attitude from pompous Patsie fans.........

...........Patsies talkin' up like Giant fans are second class citizens........

Sometimes, we 'catch' what we throw.

As for the second class citizens remark, I think I could review a few posts, and find some remarks from your way that would resemble the Patriot remarks towards Giants fans.

I have to say, I was happy to see the Patriots lose, and NY win.... but I agree with JB -- it's better to show some restraint -- it, in turn, shows class.

Newbie

Fortunately, WE did catch what was thrown to US resulting in a SUPERBOWL CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!!!!!!! : )

Class? This isn't soft handshakes, "jolly good show", and pass the grey poupon!!!! It's NFL CHAMPIONSHIP NEW YORK GIANTS FOOTBALL.

If you choose to notice, all of my posts regarding the Giants were in response to what others posted first, including JB's post in this thread. (No offense JB, was kinda looking forward to it!!!). As was the case at the Superbowl, where my observations of the patties fans was not prompted by me but simply by the NY on my chest. I am not an instigator, but if you wanna talk football, I'm all ears.....

Sure I poke fun and throw out some soft jabs while discusing football, but to me, that's what makes a forum fun as long as no one gets hurt. I read the rules and try to stay inbounds (unlike brady's throws!!! : )). We can toss the Marquess of Queensberry Rules and have some fun with it, or we can read the sports section , kiss the mrs., and head off to work. I choose the former.....

PS Here's an oldie but goodie.........

"Hey Angus!!!

I'm not sure if they 'doctored up' the game for NY, but the game I saw wasn't stellar for New York either. They just played less poor than Dallas did. It was far from a 'Blow out'.

We'll see how you are after YOU have to play at MY Lambeau."

Sound familiar???????????

Glass houses and stones come to mind

By the way, doin just fine, and you?????????? : )

The ending had to be the most emotional I've been since my children were born.

That statement is FRIGHTENING but true-to many.

We were glad to have you here. Sorry about the rain.

Come back in August.:D:D

Thanks for having me, DJ!!!!!!

Phoenix was fun and the people were awesome!!!!!! Beautiful city and clean as a new car!

45 degrees and a cold rain made it feel like home.

Afraid I'd turn into an onion ring in August down there being Scottish!!!!

I'll be back (hopefully for Superbowl XLVI).
